Sutherland Smoke House is a family-owned small business based in Miranda in the Sutherland Shire, producing handcrafted Louisiana-style chilli sauces in small batches. Their sauces begin with carefully selected fresh Australian chillies, including Bird’s Eye, Habanero and Carolina Reaper, combined with red capsicum, onion, garlic and a blend of Mexican chillies. Selected ingredients are naturally smoked to develop a distinctive smoky flavour before the chilli and vegetable mash is fermented and carefully blended to create a sauce designed to complement food with flavour as well as heat. The range includes Original, Hot and Extra Hot, providing three different heat levels while retaining the characteristic Sutherland Smoke House flavour. Produced locally here in the Shire, the sauces are now available through a growing number of local independent retailers, including Stapleton’s Quality Meats at Southgate Shopping Centre.
