Lest We Forget.
Remembrance Day Ceremony at Southgate Sylvania
Southgate Sylvania is proud to host a special Remembrance Day Ceremony in partnership with Sylvania High School on Wednesday 11 November at 11am, in front of Kmart.
This year’s ceremony will be led entirely by students from Sylvania High School, who will guide the community through this important occasion, from the opening address through to the playing of the bugle during the last post. Their involvement is a powerful reminder that the spirit of Remembrance continues to be embraced by younger generations.
We are honoured to support these remarkable young people as they take on the responsibility of preserving and sharing a tradition that pays tribute to the courage, sacrifice and service of Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women.
The dedication and respect shown by the students reflects the strong community values that make Sylvania such a special place. By participating in this ceremony, they help ensure that the stories and sacrifices of those who served are remembered and honoured for generations to come.
We warmly invite all members of the community to join us as we pause together at the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day, to remember those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.
